The map page! Several maps will aid in the understanding of the trip.
The large Canadian map shows Ellesmere Island in relation to the rest of the world. Note how far north it is compared to places like Alaska. Edmonton, Alberta doesn't even show on this map, Yellowknife is shown in the lower middle of the Northwest Territories, Cambridge Bay is on the SE edge of Victoria Island. Resolute Bay is on the SW edge of Devon Island, the Island directly south of Ellesmere Island.
The next Canadian map shows far northern Canada. Cambridge Bay and Devon Island ane now labeled.
The close up of the northern half of Ellesmere Island shows the area we visited in Ellesmere Island National Park and Reserve, now Quttinirpaaq National Park. Barbeau Peak is just to the east of Highpointers Peak and unlabeled on this map. Tanquary Fiord is that little (on this map) finger of water poking into the SW corner of the park, and is there the gravel gravel runway and Tanquary Fiord camp is.
I found this really newt/kewl/cool satellite picture on a website studying the breakup of the ice shelf on the northern coast (sorry, I forget the name). Tanqyary Fiord is just SW of the center of the slightly rotated picture, Lake Hazen just to the SE. I really like this shot.
And finally, a group of four maps generated by one of our expedition members, Greg Slayden. Greg also had a good write-up of this trip - google him to find it.
