We got up and headed towards a peak we wanted to climb. I stepped though twice more, once 6” and once to the knee. It’s now Dave 4, Bill 1, the others 0. Not a contest I want to win. But I am the tallest and heaviest at 6’2” and 180#. We got to the mountain where Jack and Dan were already climbing. The others arrived and people were trying to figure out what to do. It was pretty windy, the ridges were knife edged, and I thought we were hiking out across the valley after climbing so I decided to stay with Tom who wasn’t up to it. This is the only thing on this trip I wish I’d done differently on this trip – other than bringing less. They were only gone about 3 hours and said it was only about 400m of elevation gain. There were apparently a couple of tricky sections, an example being the last 15 meters to the summit being a steep 6” wide knife-edge. But I still wish I’d gone on the climb. Especially when we went only and hour to the next camp when the group realized how far the actual camp destination was.
